How to Apply
(Simple Steps for Best Results)

Duva-Gloss-Enamel
1

Prepare the surface

Remove dust, grease, rust, and any loose old paint. Sand wood with 120-grit, then 220-grit paper. Sand metal with emery paper down to clean bright metal where rust was present. Wipe with a clean cloth.

2

Apply primer

Use a Duva metal primer on metal surfaces and a wood primer or first coat thinned 10 percent on bare timber. Let primer cure as per its own data sheet. Skipping primer is the most common reason enamel peels within a year.

3

Stir the enamel

Stir for at least 2 minutes with a clean stick. Do not shake the can. If thinning is needed, add up to 10 percent mineral turpentine for the first coat only.

4

Apply the first coat

Use a natural-bristle brush, a foam roller for flat panels, or a spray gun for furniture and grilles. Lay off in long single strokes following the grain. Avoid going back over a tacky surface.

5

Wait 16 hours

Allow the recoat interval before the second coat. In monsoon or in air-conditioned rooms below 22°C, extend to 18 to 20 hours.

6

Apply the second coat

Apply unthinned. Two coats is the recommended minimum on bare wood and on previously rusted metal.

7

Full cure

Avoid heavy contact or cleaning for 24 hours. The film hardens fully over 7 days.

High-Gloss Paint for Wood and Metal in Pakistan

Pakistani homes throw three problems at enamel paint: 45°C-plus summers in Punjab and Sindh, monsoon humidity in Karachi and Lahore, and salt-laden coastal air in Karachi, Gwadar, and Pasni. Duva Gloss Enamel is formulated to hold its gloss in all three. The film resists yellowing under direct sun, repels rainwater on exterior wood and metal, and stays adhered through humidity-driven expansion and contraction.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Duva Gloss Enamel used for?

Duva Gloss Enamel is a high-gloss topcoat for interior and exterior wood and metal in Pakistan. Common uses include doors, window frames, grilles, main gates, garden furniture, decorative wall accents, and metal stair railings. The lead-free formulation is safe for use in occupied homes once fully cured.

Duva Gloss Enamel is available in three pack sizes. The Quarter is PKR 1,580, the Gallon is PKR 5,850, and the Drum is PKR 22,940. The Drum delivers the lowest per-litre cost and is the right choice for contractors and full-house projects. Free shipping is included across Pakistan.

Yes. Duva Gloss Enamel uses a lead-free formulation, which makes it safer to apply in homes with children and on furniture that may be touched daily. The pack carries ISO certification and PSQCA approval. Lead-free enamel is also the global benchmark recommended by the World Health Organization.

The film is touch-dry within 3 to 4 hours at normal Pakistani room temperature. Wait 16 hours before applying the second coat. The paint cures fully within 24 hours. Drying is slower in monsoon humidity, in air-conditioned rooms below 22°C, and on porous wood that was not primed first.

A sealed pack of Duva Gloss Enamel stays usable for about 24 months from the manufacture date printed on the lid. Once opened, use within 4 to 6 weeks and keep the lid pressed down firmly between uses. If a thick skin forms on top, strain through muslin before reuse.

Duva Gloss Enamel is rated for both interior and exterior use. For exterior wood and metal in coastal Karachi or in monsoon-affected Punjab, apply a metal or wood primer first, then two full coats of the enamel. This combination handles rain, UV, and salt-laden air better than a single coat.

The paint adheres to wood (interior and exterior), metal (interior and exterior), and primed cement plaster used for decorative wall accents. It is not recommended for raw masonry, plastic, or floors. For walls, use a Duva wall primer first and follow up with two thin coats for an even gloss.

Yes on bare wood and on previously rusted metal. Primer seals the surface and gives the gloss enamel a strong key. Skipping primer is the most common reason enamel peels within a year on doors and gates. Use a Duva wood primer or metal primer matched to the substrate.
