Duva Timeless Smooth Primer is a water-based, silicone-enhanced wall primer made in Pakistan for both interior and exterior surfaces. It is a sealer and adhesion promoter that goes between the wall putty (or bare plaster) and the topcoat emulsion or enamel.
The job of a primer is to seal a porous wall, neutralise the alkali that comes out of fresh cement plaster, and give the topcoat a uniform, stable surface to grip. Without that grip, the topcoat ends up patchy, flat-spotted, and prone to peeling especially on coastal Karachi walls that face high humidity and salt in the air.
Timeless Smooth Primer is engineered for the surfaces most Pakistani homes are built from: cement plaster, exposed concrete, drywall (gypsum board), cement board, and brickwork. It also performs as a preparatory coat on previously painted walls before a colour change.

Cement plaster. Wait at least 28 days after plastering for the surface to fully cure before priming.
Concrete. Exposed concrete columns, beams, and slabs both interior and exterior.
Drywall (gypsum board). Standard partition walls and false ceilings.
Cement board. Bathroom and kitchen backer boards before tiling-adjacent paintwork.
Brickwork. After a skim coat of putty if you want a smooth finish.
Previously painted walls. Before a major colour change or after stain-blocking.
Do not use it on
Raw or rusted metal — use a dedicated metal primer.
Polished or sealed wood — use a wood primer.

How to Apply Timeless Smooth Primer
1. Prepare the surface
Wait at least 28 days after plastering before priming. Remove loose paint, dust, and chalk with a stiff brush. Wash off oil, grease, and mould. Repair cracks and holes with Duva Apex Supreme Wall Putty and let it cure for the time stated on the putty pack. Sand the putty smooth with 220-grit paper and wipe the dust off.
2. Stir well
Open the pack and stir the primer thoroughly for at least 2 minutes with a flat stirrer or a low-speed mechanical mixer. Do not shake the container. If the primer feels too thick for your brush or roller, add up to 10% clean water (about 100 ml per litre) and stir again.
3. Apply the first coat
Apply a thin, even coat using a brush, a medium-pile roller, or an airless spray gun. Work top-down in sections of about 1 square metre. Avoid pooling, drips, or thick patches — two thin coats outperform one thick coat for adhesion and finish.
4. Wait the recoat window
Allow 4 to 6 hours of drying at typical Pakistani indoor temperatures of 25 to 35°C. In high humidity, monsoon conditions, or rooms with poor ventilation, wait up to 8 hours. Avoid painting in direct midday sun between 12 PM and 4 PM on exterior walls the primer will skin too fast and bond weakly.
